Have you felt isolated since you saw those double lines? Have pregnancy symptoms made you feel a new kind of lonely? Is there no one to call when you're struggling through the days, feeling like no one truly understands what you're going through?
You don't have to do this alone. This is how I felt with my first pregnancy. Pregnancy is different for everyone. When you are miserable it is hard to see the beauty in what you're creating.
I will help walk you through your pregnancy so you get the love and comfort you deserve. If you get help now, you are setting yourself up for a better and more fulfilling birth.
When I was pregnant with my first, I was miserable. I felt I couldn't relate to the other women in my life. I was tired of people telling me what a beautiful experience pregnancy was, and how I had nothing to complain about. Even asking for help seemed like a strenuous task. I felt I just had to ride it out, and I missed an entire 40 weeks of my life because I didn't get the support I needed. It wasn't until I was pregnant with my second that I realized how long 40 weeks is! It's was so much of my life that I can never get back. Pregnancy can be a beautiful, yet humbling experience. Some women turn to older sisters, their mothers, or other friends that have already had children. But some women have no one to turn to. Whether it's due to distance, old wounds, or just a lack of emotional closeness. Because of my experience, I provide women with what I wished I had during my pregnancies. A companion to listen without judgment, protect your values and goals, and provide space to be in your own divine femininity. I will be there through pregnancy, labor, and birth.
Pregnancy and birth builds us brick by brick into the mothers we are meant to become. Embrace the transformative magic in the process. As your doula, I will guide you to discover and confidently embrace your innate ability to navigate your ideal birth journey.

Is a doula worth it?
What is the evidence? Studies have shown that women who added a doula to their birth team were less likely to have pain medication, negative feelings about childbirth, and Cesareans. There was also a correlation between shorter labor and babies were less likely to have complications at birth.

What if my partner will be there?
Doula work great with partners! Partners are well-meaning, but lack the education and experience doulas have. They don't always know how to help. Think of the doula as a director to give guidance for how partner can better help mom.
What if I'm planning on getting an epidural?
Births don't always go to plan. Epidurals aren't 100% effective and don't guarantee a positive experience. A doula is there to give massages, help with positioning and grooming, advocate for needs, and much more!
